FROM OVERWHELM TO EASE & FLOW
5 Embodied Steps to Build Inner Resilience to Navigate Life’s Challenges
Step #2 to shifting out of overwhelm is to CREATE SPACE TO FEEL. This is about being willing to notice what’s going on inside and acknowledging what’s real for you. When you create space to feel you allow your system the opportunity to catch up and process all you’re dealing with and holding in your energetic field.
You can think of this like taking out the garbage. If you don’t do this on a regular basis everything builds up and gets congested. This overwhelms your system so that you either shut down or numb out because it all feels too much, or the build up leads to sudden uncontrolled outbursts in order to release the pressure.
CREATE SPACE TO FEEL gives your system more bandwidth to respond to life’s challenges by using your breath to let yourself meet all that you’re holding on to and giving it a bit of space. Breathing is a process of elimination and your breath is your easiest way to create more spaciousness inside. Every exhalation offers a release. This gives you more inner resilience simply by taking the time to integrate what’s already there.
* For added nervous system support it’s recommended to do this practice lying down on your back with a couple of pillows under your legs to elevate your feet, or with your legs up a wall.
